Responsible Gaming

Betting should be a bit of fun that you can comfortably afford to lose, nothing more. This service is for adults aged 18 and over only. Over time the house keeps an edge, which means the longer you play the more likely you are to be down overall. Treating a deposit as entertainment spending, like a cinema ticket, keeps the habit healthy. Treating it as a way to make money is where people get hurt.

Set your limits before you start

  • Decide a budget for the week and never top it up once it is gone.
  • Set a time limit as well as a money limit. Long sessions lead to worse decisions.
  • Never chase a loss. A bigger bet to win back what you lost is the fastest way to lose more.
  • Keep betting money separate from money for rent, bills, food and family.
  • Do not borrow to bet. If you are using credit or loans to fund an account, stop now.

Warning signs to watch for

Gambling may be becoming a problem if you recognise yourself in any of these: betting more than you can afford, lying to family about how much you play, feeling restless or irritable when you try to cut down, chasing losses day after day, or borrowing money to keep going. Any one of these is a reason to pause and talk to someone.

Take a break

If you want to step away, message our desk and ask us to pause or close your account. We will not pressure you to stay and we will not quietly reopen it. Taking a cooling-off period of a few weeks is a normal, sensible thing to do, not an admission of failure.
